The Truth About Your Health May Shock You!

Lissa Rankin, M.D., an OB/GYN, discusses how our mind, heart and soul deeply affect our health. She believes they are MORE important than caring for the body.

As  a physician, she was frustrated with treating patents’ symptoms vs causes.  So, she started down a path in search of “what really makes a body healthy and what really makes us sick.”  After much research, she discovered what she was never taught in medical school.  She says what really matters is “healthy relationships; having a healthy professional life; expressing yourself creatively; being spiritually connected; having a healthy sex life; being healthy financially; living in a healthy environment; being mentally healthy; and of course all the things we traditionally associate with health also matter – all the things that nurture the body.”

She highlights our “inner pilot light” as the guide to a healthy body.  It’s that deep, essence and part of you that always knows what’s right for YOU.  “You’re born with it.  It goes with you when you die… – that’s the biggest healer you can tap into.”

Lissa Rankin, MD is an OB/GYN physician, author, keynote speaker, consultant to health care visionaries, professional artist, and founder of the women’s health and wellness community OwningPink.com. Discouraged by the broken, patriarchal health care system, she left her medical practice in 2007 only to realize that you can quit your job, but you can’t quit your calling. This epiphany launched her on a journey of discovery that led her to become a leader in the field of mind/body medicine, which she blogs about at OwningPink.com.
